1. Do I need to get approval before importing household electrical appliances to Malaysia?

Yes, all household electrical appliances fall under the regulatory purview of Suruhanjaya Tenaga, in accordance with the Electricity Supply Act 1990 (Act 447).

2. How to apply for Certificate of Approval in Malaysia?

Importers need to setup a warehouse in Malaysia and complete with Business Registration License, submit documents to Suruhanjaya Tenaga for application.

3. How to apply for SIRIM Label for products to sell in Malaysia?

There are two ways to apply for SIRIM Label. Apply through the conventional batch consignment test or conduct Product Certification Scheme.
